About the Farm
Growing tobacco since the mid-1600s, the Dixon Family Farm was established in 1881. and recognized as a Maryland Century Farm. Using biodynamic farming practices, we now grow acres of lavender, wine grapes, cut flowers, wildflowers, vegetables, herbs, pumpkins, and a variety of botanicals we use in our farm-made soaps and other products. We harvest and distill lavender and other botanicals every summer and use steam distillation to produce high-quality essential oils.
About events on the farm:
- For your safety and the safety of all of our guests, please observe all signage and posted restrictions while enjoying our working farm.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times for their safety.
- No Pets Allowed. There are coyotes in the area, and we have livestock on the farm. Please leave your pets at home.
- We have honeybee hives on the farm, people who are allergic to bees should take precautions.
