How it Started, How it’s Going

It took a few years to get here, but the big lavender field is looking great! A few images below of what it looked like before the work began.

How it started, no road to barn, and lots of overgrowth

The first acre being cleared. This view is from the top of the driveway, and the barn is behind the excavator and trees.

After the Sudan Grass was established and then tilled into the soil to add organic matter and nematode suppression, we planted the entire field with fescue to establish cover and help mitigate water runoff.

this is the first year bloom
2nd Year bloom, we had some losses in the low areas from flooding over winter.

3rd year bloom in summer 2025. The low areas were flooded (again) so we need to replant (again).
